Sonja is an artist based in Grünwald, Germany – a small town bordering Munich whose name means "green forest."

Her work explores natural experiences through the permeability of virtual connections, establishing a dialogue between the artist and her environment, as well as between the depicted elements and the chosen media. She creates artworks that draw inspiration from nature, utilizing her own unique visual vocabulary.

Her paintings are made using watercolours and ink as well as gouache on raw canvas.

With training in architecture and experience in spatial and graphic design, she interprets space through nature’s forms, light, and interrelationships.
