My name is Sonja, I'm an artist based in Grünwald, Germany — a small town bordering Munich whose name means "green forest."

I paint somewhere between abstraction and realism, always drawn to beautiful moments in nature. When my focus shifts to clouds, to leaves shimmering in the sun, to water flowing down a stream, my thoughts are already carried elsewhere. In those moments, I feel a deep connection to the vast beauty our world has to offer.

With my paintings, I aim to offer you that same sense of calm and expansion — bringing the complexity of nature into your spaces. Working with reduced colour palettes, each painting becomes a serene space for your eyes to rest and your mind to wander. They are made to inspire your thoughts, not overwhelm them.

I primarily work with watercolour, ink, and gouache on raw canvas.
Trained in architecture and experienced in spatial and graphic design, I interpret space through form, light, and the relationships between them.
